St John's Approved Premises

One-to-One
Rules are necessary for the smooth running of the Approved Premise and failure to comply with them will result in disciplinary action. This can range from formal warnings for minor violation to breach action for serious or repeated violations.

The following is a summary of the principle rules:
Residents must not behave in a violent, disruptive, disorderly or threatening way.
Residents must not bring or use alcohol, drugs, solvents or non-prescribed medication into the hostel or its grounds.
Residents must not steal or damage the property of the hostel,the staff or other residents.
Residents must pay the weekly charge on the due date.
Residents must be in the hostel during the hours of curfew, normally between llpm and 6am.
Residents must allow staff to search their rooms and possessions.
Residents must undertake drug tests when required to do so.
Dangerous items e.g. Knives, screwdrivers etc must not be brought onto the premises.
Sexually or racist items, words, gestures are not allowed.
Most medications are handled under a "Medication in Possession" scheme. However, where necessary, medication can be handed in to staff for appropriate issue to residents.
Residents must be in their bedrooms by 12pm and leave by 0900am, residents are not allowed in each others rooms.
Residents must not congregate in the hostel environs nor drink alcohol in the street or public areas around the hostel.
Residents have a responsibility to maintain good relationships with the local community. They must not annoy or obstruct neighbours or passers by. They may not enter the grounds of the local church unless to attend a service.
